Pizza Sandwiches

When I was younger, sandwich makers were really popular. We had a lot of fun filling them with different combinations like ham and cheese and my personal favorite: pizza toppings. The problem was that strip down the middle that was always hard and crunchy. I have also been trying to clean out my kitchen and get rid of any unnecessary gadgets that only have one specific use. So the other day I was hungry for a pizza sandwich and decided to make one using just a regular old skillet and it worked great!

I used shredded mozzarella cheese because it was all that I had on hand and it turned out alright but it was really hard to flip over without everything spilling out of it so I would recommend using slices instead.

Pizza Sandwiches

Ingredients:
Sliced Bread
Butter
Pizza Sauce
Mozzarella Cheese Slices
Pizza Toppings

Butter one side on each slice of bread that you will be using. For each sandwich, place one slice of bread in a large skillet over medium heat. Spread a little bit of pizza sauce on the side of bread facing up. Top with a slice of cheese, your pizza topping of choice, and another slice of cheese. Place another slice of bread on top with the buttered side facing up. Lightly brown on each side. Serve hot.

  2. True story- when this post popped up in my reader, my tummy growled so much I got a queer look from the Mister, probably wondering how in the world a grizzly managed to sneak into the house.
Oh my... I can smell the little beauties as if they were roasting in my kitchen...

  3. Leave it to you to peak my interest as I scroll through my Reader. I would never of thought to add pepperoni to a grilled cheese sandwich but it is genius...I'm not surprised it was you to share it :)
