Jeremy's Superhero Room

The Superhero Room is complete!  I've shown you how I created Superman's Closet Door...

...which opens into the superhero changing room...

....and the Gotham City Skyline Painted Headboard complete with the bat signal.

Now here is a look at the room as a whole.  This wall is by far my favorite but there are a few other little touches in the room that pull it all together.

The next wall has Jer's superhero logo that I cut out of black vinyl using my silhouette.  You could easily trace it on to contact paper or poster board and cut it out by hand though.  I installed a coat hook to hang his Superhero Cape.  I intended to make a Batman cape to go with it but my sewing machine died on me and I haven't been able to replace it yet.  :( 

Then there is the toy wall.  Yes, my son is very spoiled.  Between grandparents, great-grandparents, godparents, aunts, and hand-me-downs from the cousins...the boy gets a lot of toys.  We actually don't get to buy him very much ourselves because he is already so spoiled by everyone else!  

Our upstairs is an old converted attic so this wall is kind of weird with the angled ceiling and old chimney but for a kid's room it works pretty well.  Most of the toys fit on the two small white bookshelves from Walmart and the smaller toys go in plastic shoe boxes with photos on the front showing what kind of toys go in each one.

On the last wall hangs the comic book art that I made.  I had thought about tracing out the superheros and painting them on myself but I decided to go the easy route instead.  I used some comic books that we have for crafting purposes (not from my husband's collection - that would very be a bad idea) and decoupaged a few pages onto some scrap wood then nailed saw edge hangers on the back.

Not bad for a total of: $36.82!
