After our last couple of Halloween parties, I have discovered that it is best to keep things simple when it comes to the food. When party day rolls around there is so much to do like making sure the house is clean and getting dressed (which can take awhile if any of our costumes require special hair or makeup) and trying to make a bunch of complicated food just makes the party prep super stressful. Besides, as much as people enjoy looking at the awesome creepy foods, it is the basics like my Bacon Wrapped Sausages or a simple cheese and cracker tray that are usually the biggest hits.
Another thing to remember is that while sweet foods are a lot of fun and easy to make creepy, you want plenty of salty foods to go with it. Too much sugar will give your guests a tummy ache and if you are serving alcohol they will want some salty snacks to soak up the booze.
So most of the food this year will be quick and easy or things that can be prepared the day before. I am still going to sprinkle a few creepy foods in though so I put together this collection of Halloween food ideas. Hopefully these will help inspire you when preparing your own Halloween party menu!
