Jeremy's 5th Birthday!

My baby boy turned five last weekend!!! I think this birthday was harder on me than any other. He's just such a little man now!

A little man who doesn't need his Mommy anymore. :(

Instead of throwing a big party we decided to have a family fun day. Jeremy woke up to balloons in his room and streamers downstairs. We had our traditional Saturday morning breakfast of cinnamon rolls then went to Home Depot for the Kids Workshop. After that we took Jeremy on his very first visit to Chuck E. Cheese!!

After we had some pizza, we checked out the "live" performance. To be honest, it was pretty lame. Not at all what it used to be.

Jer wasn't very impressed either. We watched for a few minutes then decided to check out the games.

Much more exciting! :)

He wasn't able to get any baskets on this one but he had fun throwing it over the divider. There were a few times he couldn't even do that though and the kid next to us got beaned in the head more than once!

He really liked this one where you shoot the water in the hole. We played it repeatedly. He was pretty good at it, too!

He even got to take a drive with his new pal, Chuck. They also danced together but I'm a horrible mother and forgot to charge the camera battery before we left so it had died at that point. It was so stinkin cute too!!! Urgh! Shelby got some video of it on his phone though. I'll have to see if I can get him to upload it to YouTube.

After Chuck E. Cheese, we headed home for some Scooby Doo cake and presents. Scooby Doo is one of his new obsessions. He is so cute when he says "Scooby Dooby Dooooo!" Every day since the party I have heard, "Can I have some Scooby Doo cake? Because I don't feel very Scooby-ish."

We also had a bowl of Scooby Snacks on the side. When I first put them out, Jer thought they were for the dog. :)

Finally, it was time for presents!

I love this picture of him and the transformer flying through the air. :)

He had been asking for the red light saber for awhile now and it was definitely his favorite gift of the day. He loves Darth Vader and has often told us to "come to the dark side". Lol! He was excited to have the red light saber just like Darth. This one also lights up and makes sounds which is cool.

It turned out to be a pretty good day! Jer kept saying, "This is the bestest birthday EVER!!!!"

I don't think he minded it being just the three of us. :)

  2. What a cutie! I'm glad he had a great birthday!

When DD turned three, we took her to CC's. It was a complete madhouse, and already I could feel a migrane coming on. We quickly started shooting off other ideas of places we could go, even used bribery; but to no avail. She came very close to getting a pony.

  3. He TOTALLY needs you still! Now more than ever! I have a ten year old boy, and I'll tell you, the bond gets stronger and stronger every year. You have all that to look forward to!

What a great little guy, not only do I love his hairstyle, I also love me a lad who can swing a light saber. What's not to adore?
Can't wait for your post about his first tattoo :) Won't be long now, Megan, and he'll still need you as much then as he does now <3
