Actually we broke free Sunday evening but I just now got around to posting this. You would think being snowed in for two days that I would have sat around being lazy and playing around on the computer. Nope. I was even lazier and sat around watching movies instead. Well, that and occasionally digging our house out of the bottomless pit of dirty dishes, laundry and toys that seem to be breeding when I'm not looking.
Now I have four days of unanswered emails, two days without blog posts, about forty links in the Christmas party to go check out, and who knows how many updates in google reader. Now I am trying to make my way through all of it while at the same time not letting the blog take over my life. It's a delicate balance. :)

Our poor little car!

The sidewalk after Shelby went through with his beloved snowblower.

The front yard. That is the door that I showed you in this post.

The backyard with walls of snow that lead to the gate.

"He's Mister White Christmas.
He's Mister Snow.
He's Mister Icicle.
He's Mister Ten Below."

After shoveling, there ended up being a pile in one spot that is over four feet tall. So naturally Shelby and Jer built a cave that was big enough for both of them!

I believe the final tally was about 21" in less than 24 hours!!!
And this is in addition to the 8" or so that we got the weekend before.
I'll admit that I wasn't too sure about the snowblower at first but now it has definitely proven to be worth the investment!
That is a ridiculous amount of snow!!
ReplyDeleteOh that snow fort is awesome!! These are the snowdrifts of my childhood and how we loved to play in them. I hope Jeremy makes some good memories of these snow days too :)
ReplyDeleteThat is one crazy amount of snow! We live in VA and 2 inches sends us homecrying, this is insane. I am 1000% jealous of the little snow fort though
ReplyDeleteI have been wondering about the snow you've gotten and how you all have been doing. Our snow seems to be staying too this year and I'm already for it to leave. I've slipped twice but didn't fall. I'm also going to make your cookie recipe and frosting to do with the boys this week no school. Then maybe with Susie on Xmas day. Then of course again next time yeah all in Illinois with our beautiful 4 year old grandson we miss so very much. We also dearly miss his parents. Merry Christmas with lots of love. Mom/Nana
ReplyDeleteYikes..that is a LOT of snow. Here in TN. we don't see snows like that. Pretty...nice.
ReplyDeletePam - I have family in Nashville and every time I see the temperature there I get jealous! The big pile of snow was really nice for Christmas though. :)
