Ready to go rob a bank er...I mean see the parade!
We decided to pay for the "hot seats" which meant a heated tent and hot chocolate and cider. It was way more enjoyable and since we paid for the tickets in advance we couldn't back out because we didn't feel like dealing with traffic or cold weather which is what we have done in previous years.
The bars that held up the tent made all of my photos look like they were taken from prison though.
Because of the bad lighting and not wanting to disturb others with my flash, I couldn't get very clear shots of Jer watching the parade. I did get some cool, kind of artsy shots of him though. Like this one of his silhouette.
I also love this one even though it is totally blurry. I like how you can see his breath on the glass.
And this one with the float lighting up his smiling face and his hand on the glass.
We also got one of those cheap, fiber optic light wands because Shelby and I both remember loving those when we were kids and you may as well get the whole experience.
Once I got into taking blurry night shots, I couldn't stop. This one of the lights on the trees was taken while walking. I actually took a really clear shot of the lights but I didn't like it as much.
Final Tally:
hours spent in rush hour traffic - 2
heated tent tickets - $27
parking - $7
fiber optic wand - $5
seeing the joy on your little boy's face - priceless

You're right they are priceless picture and adventure! Yes, I love the blurred lights too!
