My canvas prints are now for sale HERE
***A big thanks to My Craftie Life for featuring this project!***
I saw this skull canvas in the new Pottery Barn catalog and knew I had to have one! But $79?!?! Really? So instead of handing over all of that money, I came up with this:
I'm so happy with how it turned out! I made the print using the Coffee Fabric Dye and Printing on Fabric tutorials that I recently showed you, glued the top of the fabric to a dowel rod (which I also added a touch of the coffee dye to), and hung it with a piece of twine.
I had everyting on hand (including the skull image 'cause I'm weird like that) so it was free! You can find a similar skull along with other fun spooky prints here at The Graphics Fairy.

$79!!! Yeah, that is a bit tooo much! And wow! Yours looks amamzing! Great job!
ReplyDeleteYou will get those readers! You do an awesome job with your blog and others would be crazy not to follow!
ReplyDeleteI love that for Halloween. It turned out so great. I am so excited that you linked up to Tuesday Tell All! I am with you on the Pottery Barn stuff. Cute, but not worth the price! I hope that you get to 100 followers soon.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Megan. If you held the two up to me I would not be able to tell the difference :)
ReplyDeleteWOW! I just saw this on Someday Crafts Whatever Goes Wednesday and it was the FIRST project I had to check out! This is so awesome!!! I'm glad to say I just got you one step further to 100 followers because I'm your latest!
ReplyDeleteI saw that in the catalog and couldn't believe the price either even though I really want it. Yours looks just as good as theirs! Spotted you at Little Birdie Secrets and I'm now a follower, not only because you won me over with this and your Nightmare Before Christmas party but also because I want you to reach 100 followers and have this awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteGreat knock off and don't it make you feel great to make something yourself and save all that money Ü
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteGreat Job!
I read through the coffee dye and printing links you gave. I was curious tho, does the spray adhesive leave the fabric sticky/tacky?
I think your version of the canvas is much better.
Very cool. Great job pulling that off- I love when I can save money by doing something on my own:) My son would LOVE this!
ReplyDeleteThis looks better than the real one! I am super impressed! Coming over from Show and Tell and joined to follow! Christie at Three Pixie Lane

ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic knock-off! As mentioned above, your project is top notch! Found you via CSI.
Hey girl, I can't believe I haven't left you a message about this yet. I think the other day when you linked it up, I was getting ready too, and you know my kids got in the way, lol. This is SUPER cool, and I would also NEVER EVER EVER spend that much money, in fact not even a tenth of that for PB's one, and with your fabulous tutorial, oh man, THANK YOU. Just amazing, it turned out PRACTICALLY identical and perfect. I so appreciate you so much for participating in **6 weeks 2 Spook,** and linking this up along with more of your awesome projects. THANKS again. Bella :)
ReplyDeleteI really like your version better than PB's. I was just looking through GF's archives the other day...now you have me thinking. ;)
